Lorsque j'étais adolescence parmi toutes mes copines une seule avait passé la porte d'un tatoueur et bien sur en cachette de ses parents ! Le tatouage c'était un peu l'interdit. On avait encore l'image des bikers, des petites cabines un peu rustiques cachées par un rideau. Et puis ces dernières années, je n'ai jamais autant vu de gens tatoués : des sportifs, des artistes, des vieux, des jeunes... bref, le tatouage s'est démocratisé à fond ! C'est devenu un art à part entière. Une identification. Un bijou sur la peau réalisé par des artistes venant de plus en plus d' écoles d'art et d'architecture.

C'est en plein coeur de la Condamine que s'est crée il y a à peine un an et demi, un "tattoo studio" ou plus communément un salon de tatouage : DIXIEME ART MONACO. Le premier et l'unique endroit où l'on peut se faire tatouer à Monaco.
J'avais rendez-vous avec Daya et Noemi, les deux fondatrices des lieux et ce jour-là je me suis retrouvée avec au moins 10 personnes à l'entrée. J'ai quand même hallucinée : tout âge, toute nationalité, certains étaient là pour un piercing d'autres pour leur tatouage. Je rentrais dans un monde qui jusque là m'était inconnu et je me sentais bien. L'endroit est très agréable et convivial : de la déco très contemporaine avec de très jolis tableaux exposés, à l' accueil. Les cabines sont hyper aseptisée : tout en inox, tout lessivable, ... l'hygiène est une priorité. Toutes leurs encres sont vegan et bio. Un gage de sécurité !
La clientèle est très variée : des résidents aux limitrophes en passant par les touristes ! Il faut dire qu'on y reçoit des "Guest" dans ce salon ! En effet, des tatoueurs d'autres pays sont de passage à Monaco et décident de venir tatouer quelques jours chez Daya et Noemi. Un échange de technique, de style et tout le monde y trouve son compte ! Dans ce salon, c'est un peu l'auberge espagnole : Noemi, l'italienne, Daya, la mexicaine, et l'équipe de tatoueurs : Raul l'espagnol, Judita, la lituanienne et Thomas le français. Un mélange de culture, de techniques, de personnalités, d'artistes ! Ils ont même leur jargon à eux !

En général, les gens arrivent avec la photo du tatouage qu'ils aimeraient avoir et Raul, Judita ou Thomas les conseillent afin de garantir un tatouage unique. Tous les projets sont dessinés par les tatoueurs. Puis il y a une seconde visite où le tatouage est validé et enfin à la troisième visite c'est le tatouage qui est réalisé. En terme de tarif, le salon pratique la facturation à l'heure ce qui permet d'avoir le juste prix en fonction de l'importance du tatouage. L'heure est facturée 140 euros ce qui place le salon en très bon rapport qualité prix. D'ailleurs, j'ai oui dire qu'il serait même plus intéressant de venir se faire tatouer à Monaco ... à bon entendeur ! Pour info, il y a en moyenne deux mois d'attente.
Et au salon, on ne fait pas que du tatouage : on peut se faire faire également un piercing et du maquillage permanent avec des spécialistes !
Le salon 'DIXIEME ART MONACO' a hâte de participer à des conventions c'est à dire à des regroupements de tatoueurs, type 'le Mondial du Tatouage' à Paris où sont organisés des concours du meilleur tatouage dans chaque spécialités (Réalisme, oldschool, dotwork, etc ...) . c'est aussi dans ces conventions qu'en regardant les tatoueurs reconnus ils se forment à la technique.
Le salon veut s'agrandir et est à la recherche d'un nouveau tatoueur avec un style réalisme et projet en couleur. Affaire à suivre !

It is in the heart of the Condamine that a tattoo studio was created, just a year and half ago : DIXIEME ART MONACO. The first and only place in Monaco where you can get a tattoo.
I had an appointment with Daya and Noemi, the two founders of the place. When I arrived, I was with around 10 people ! I didn't believe my eyes : any age, any nationality. Some were there for a piercing, others for a tattoo. I did not know this world but I felt at home!
The place is very pleasant and convivial : from the reception at the very contemporary decoration with very nice paintings exposed. The cabins are hyper sanitized : all stainless steel, all washable, ... Hygiene is a priority. All their inks are vegan and organic. A guarantee of safety !
The clients are very varied : from local people to tourists ! It must be said that they receive some "Guest"! Indeed, tattoo artists from other countries come to tattoo a few days to Daya and Noemi place. An exchange of technique, style and everyone finds its groove ! In this tattoo salon, it is like "l'Auberge espagnole" : Noemi, the Italian girl, Daya, the Mexican girl, and the team of tattoo artists : Raul from Spain, Judita from Lithuania and Thomas from France. A mix of culture, techniques, personalities, artist ! They even have their own gabble !

Generally, people arrive with the photo of the tattoo they would like to get and Raul, Judita or Thomas advise them to guarantee a unique tattoo. All projects are drawn by tattoo artists. Then, there is a second visit when the tattoo is validated and finally the third visit when they start it. In terms of prices, they are paid per hour so that's a good deal because the artists are fast acting. The hour is charged 140 euros which is a good price quality ratio. By the way, I heard that it would be even more interesting to come and get tattooed in Monaco... Don't say you weren't warned ! For your information, there is an average of two months waiting.
They don't do only tattoo in this salon : you can also get a piercing and permanent make up with experts ! They are looking forward to taking part in conventions ie groups of tattoo artists, like the Mondial du Tatouage in Paris where the best tattoo competitions are organized . It is also there that they are trained in techniques and styles.
